golf courses are scattered within a short drive and family
attractions like the NC Maritime Museum, Fort Macon state
Park, and The Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium are sure to be

and recreational sport fishing. Havelock, NC in Craven
County is home to Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station.

Carteret County schools are known
for above average scores on the end of year exams and
the SAT. The Carteret County schools reading scores for
2004-5 ranked 12th highest among the state's 115 school
systems and SAT scores ranked 2nd among the 19 counties
in the Southeast region of North Carolina.

The Crystal Coast has a temperate
climate. The weather is mostly sunny and nice during the
spring and summer months. The first frost usually occurs
sometime in late November. Winters are typical mild with
lows dipping below freezing only about 30 days out of
the year. Relative humidity is 75%.
